What Orange County brings to the table

The most urbanized of the five Central Florida counties I serve, with almost every lifestyle on the map: busy in-town,quiet lakefront, new and old.

Key facts

Anchored by Orlando, Orange County is Central Florida's economic and population engine. It is home to the state's largest public school district, the region's biggest job base, and the tourism corridors that draw the world here.

Major cities and communities

Orlando, Windermere, Dr. Phillips, Winter Park, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Apopka, and Lake Nona, plus walkable in-town enclaves like Baldwin Park, College Park, and Thornton Park.

Schools and districts

Orange County Public Schools, the largest district in Florida, has carried a strong state grade in recent years. Well-regarded high schools include Winter Park, Lake Nona, Windermere, Timber Creek, Boone, and Dr. Phillips, with top magnet options like Orlando Gifted Academy.

Attractions and lifestyle

Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, Gatorland, and ICON Park headline the visitor list, while locals claim Lake Eola in downtown, Winter Park's Park Avenue, Restaurant Row,and a blue-ribbon network of neighborhood parks.

Commute and access

I-4,the Florida Turnpike, the 408 and 429 expressways, and Orlando International Airport keep most of the county within an easy drive of anywhere else in Central Florida.
